FAQ

Q: What resolution and file size do I need for my print enlargements and graphics?

A:  Please consult our File Resolution Chart.

Q: How large a print can I make from my digital camera?

A: It depends....... Not all digital cameras are created equal. The main factors are the size of the image chip in megapixels, the physical dimensions of the image chip (professional cameras have larger chips which is better) and the quality of the lens. The quality of the processing software also plays a role. Here is a very rough guide from our experience based on the highest resolution your camera can produce:

    4 Megapixel camera: good  8x10 , maybe 11x14

6 Megapixel camera: good 11x14, maybe 16x20,  professional cameras: possibly 20x30

8 Meagpixel camera: good 16x20, maybe 20x24,  professional cameras: possibly 24x36

The above requires that the camera is set to the highest file quality to obtain the largest file possible.
